Topical…topic.
Minimum charge for non prime members in the US went up from $35 to $49 dollars a couple of days ago. That has to hurt sales…

You know what the shipping charge for non prime members in Japan is? Well for FBA products, it’s zero! Yup, absolutely nothing. So why do people need Prime then? They don’t! I had it until I realized I get 2 day free shipping without it. So I cancelled. And I buy EVERYTHING on Amazon.

Ok, so obviously many people do have prime. Same day shipping in many areas, plus faster shipping in others. Other benefits too. But the main one, free shipping, is free anyway! I do not know a single person with Prime.

I assume Amazon wants to build the business in Japan before it starts charging for non prime members. If and when that happens, I don’t know. I’d guess it won’t happen until they get a commanding lead over Rakuten.

Just thought it might be useful to mention, even if it won’t really change your FBA strategy here.
